Hello!

My name is Jolena, and I am the Owner + Director of Big Brain Adventurers outdoor summer camp. I am a registered early childhood educator (RECE) with 10+ years of experience in the field of early childhood education.

 

I have completed a diploma in Early Childhood Education at Mohawk College and an Honours in Early Child Education degree at Brock University. I am currently employed with the City of Hamilton as an RECE teacher. I have worked most of my career in a licensed childcare center and within the school classroom setting. I have professional experience with children ages 1 through 12. My experience includes working in toddler, preschool, and school-age programs (before and aftercare, summer camp, emergency care), plus Kindergarten and Life Skills classrooms within the school board.

Summer 2025 will be the FOURTH year of Big Brain Adventurers summer camp! This year, I will be an off-site Director. My trusted and qualified Camp Facilitators will be the educators guiding your  children throughout their day and will be the faces you see every day at drop-off and pick-up! I am available at any time throughout the day via email, text or phone-call.
 

For its fourth year running, I have no doubt that this summer will be jam-packed with fun, exploration, play-based learning, art, games, water play and all the good stuff! Big Brain Camp Facilitators have the education and experience to uphold the philosophy of the Big Brain outdoor summer camp program in addition to the safety and well-being of each child.
